Stuff I read: ConfigMgr Roadmap
Posted by Lars Krogh in Stuff I read on 16/11/2009

This should be the roadmap for ConfigMgr (Note. Microsoft will not name it ConfigMgr vNext, but ConfigMgr 2011 (source: TechNet EMEA 2009)).
The 2007 R3 release should be all about power management (Green computing/Green IT), so I think, I’ll skip that one and concentrate on the 2011 release.

Stuff I read: The Machine SID Duplication Myth
Posted by Lars Krogh in Stuff I read on 04/11/2009
I starting working with desktop deployment using batch scripts and tools like DeployCenter and Ghost. I used NTSID to generate a new SID for systems that was a clone of a master.
Now read this blog from Mark Russinovich - quote: NewSID (later version of NTSID) has never really done anything useful and there’s no reason to miss it now that it’s retired. Microsoft’s official policy on SID duplication will also now change and look for Sysprep to be updated in the future to skip SID generation.
